DC Gymkhana Spoof

Don't try this at home...

After Ken Block's first spectacular "Gymkhana Practice" tire-hazed its way to Internet popularity, IMV Films geared up to produce a ridiculous SPOOF of the original. Make no mistake, this over-the-top video IS SARCASTIC, RATHER THAN SERIOUS... all with a wicked sense of humor*.

*Don't complain about poor taste or professionalism if you:
1- HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR
2- ARE A PRUDE.
3- ARE PRO-LIFE

The TOTAL, all-inclusive budget (including vehicle + all equipment / props) was 1/10th the cost of a single "Gymkhana Racing Engine."

See for yourself what makes (or doesn't make) this video, IMV Films "Gymkhana" Practice.

Great success @ HONDATECH for generous & timeless support of such Gymkhana videos via forum ROFLCOPTER.

(DISCLAIMER: THE FEATURED DRIVER IN THIS VIDEO WAS ADAMANT ABOUT NOT PERFORMING ANY ILLEGAL STUNTS. 3 OTHER STUNT DRIVERS AND STAND-INS WERE USED TO MIMIC THE FEATURED DRIVER DURING SEVERAL STUNTS AND LOCATION SHOOTS. ALL STUNTS WERE PERFORMED BY PROFESSIONALS OR UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PROFESSIONALS ON CLOSED ROADS + STUNT CARS. Ken Block's Gymkhana TWO Project

So you all have seen the first Gymkhana film that was pretty insane. Want some more? Fo'sure!!! But how to one-up the previous film!?!

Ken's got new weapon for the Gymkhana two mayhem. The WRX STI 2009 aka GYM2, built by Crawford Performance.

It's featuring Full Race cage, Recaro Carbon/Kevlar bucket seat, Brembo big brakes, Tein coilover suspension, Crawford Performance SR5 2,65 l Race Engine and tons of STi & Prodrive goodies, like the carbon fibre wing. The Volk TE37 [DC-edition] wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force rubbers. The whole lot built in just 43 days!!!

"The best thing is driving the new gymkhana car that Subaru built for me (code name GYM2). It’s incredible…like 10 times better than my original gymkhana STI (GYM1). It’s ridiculously fun…it’s like a video game (only without the “restart” button)."
- Ken Block

The film will feature new surprises (read stunts) and some othet DC sponsored heros, like pro skater Rob Dyrdek. The film is shoot at new secret location.

So, the video is already shot??? "Well, yes…most of it. It was four days of high-speed fun, high stress situations, and massive amounts of BFG rubber ingestion (I was blowing rubber out my nose for three days after). But, what could me more fun than trashing a new race car around an amazing setting?"
- Ken Block

The new film is to launch June 1st 2009. Watch this space!

More info: DC-Shoes Auto site.

Ooh, have you seen the Gymkhana 1 Bonus video!?! Unseen footage of the first film - Whoops...

Pretty crazy stuff, lol

Top Gear for the win!

Extreme Ford Fiesta road test

Best car review ever!?!

"The Top Gear boys are deeply offended by a fan letter claiming that they don't review cars properly anymore. To compensate, Jeremy Clarkson takes the new Ford Fiesta for an extraordinary road test including a car chase inside a shopping centre, and a Royal Marine assisted beach assault. Brilliant high quality video from BBC motoring show, Top Gear. Visit http://www.TopGear.com for all the latest news and car reviews."

R35 GT-R Wagon by Kids Heart

Nagoya Auto Trend 2009 - Show (aka NAT)

Kids Heart unveiled their latest creation at NAT’s. The M35 Stagea with R35 GT-R front & rear end conversion. The rear doors, quarters and fenders are also slightly flared. I bet Tsuyoshi Tezuka just hit the next gold mine with this conversion. He’s the manager at the Kids Heart which is car dealer in Aichi/Nagoya. Tezuka is the man behind Bee*R's B324R D1GP drifter as well. They have done a lot of conversions like this before, like the official Sileighty, Free Dom, etc.

Stance is so important that it can either make or break a car’s tasteful appearance whether they got the nicest paint job, nicest body kit, and/or even the nicest wheels. All that is nothing without a good stance. This is a very subjective topic, but I think we can all agree that if the wheels don’t fit right, it just ruins the car’s body flow.

The stance of the car simply consists of two things to work… dump and flush (no relations to toilets.) Lowering a car alone already improves the appearance of the car. It gets rid of that nasty wheel gap that should be left to off-road, dirt vehicles. Flushing the wheels is when you bring the wheels out as far as possible without having the top tire treads past the fender lip. This flushed look helps the body panels to continue the flow down to the wheels. It makes the car look more “whole”.

Of course, stance is a simple concept, but to achieve a good one, it involves quite a bit of homework. Lowering suspensions, camber, wheel size/offset, tire size/stretch, fender roll/pull, and other factors are needed for this to work, but this is another story as it can become very involving. There may also be negative effects such as premature wear of the tire, suspension components, and hazardous driving conditions depending on how extreme the stance is.

“Any car can be made to look real good. All it takes is a good stance.”
- Son Tran (Rimtuck.com)

RimTuck.com urges anyone who think they have good wheel fitment to contribute to the database by adding your wheel fitment setup.

Kuvat.fi on palvelu Sinulle, joka tarvitset paljon kotisivutilaa esimerkiksi omille digikuvillesi ja videoillesi verkossa. Palveluun kuuluu automaattisesti toimiva kuvagalleria, jonka käyttö on todella helppoa.
